Ugly Face's 2027 Ugly Baby Series
Everyone has an ugly baby in the works.

A series for the newest of new work, the freshest baby right out of the womb.

We're looking for three new plays to share in our reading series this spring!

These works should not have yet had a formal presentation.

We are looking for full length plays that are still in their early, messy stages. This can be something completely new or an early draft of something you'd love to dig into more. Ugly Face loves work that is biting, dark, silly, ridiculous, playful, & that makes us laugh. We center women, nonbinary, and queer voices.

Each reading will be paired with a director and given a public presentation. Each reading will also receive an internal reading for developmental support.

Please submit one new play sample (ten pages max.) & an idea of where you think the play might go or what you're excited to explore/play around with as you continue to develop it.

Submissions will be accepted until
11:59pm on Nov. 3

Applicants will be notified by the end of November/ beginning of December.
